The Evopreg range of pre-impregnated composite materials is a family of prepregs based on either: Epoxy resins or PFA (Polyfurfuryl Alcohol) bioresin.
Epoxy resins can be used for improved mechanical properties in your final product and can be selected with low temperature, medium temperature or higher temperature cure cycles. Utilising our in-house formulation capability, we have tailored solutions for general component moulding, high-performance and composite tooling applications.
PFA (Polyfurfuryl Alcohol) is a thermosetting bioresin derived from crop waste such as sugar cane bagasse and is similar in nature to a phenolic resin. PFA can also offer improved surface finish of demoulded components thus requiring reduced levels of post mould finishing helping to further reduce your components costs. These grades were formally designated under the Ecopreg brand.
By selecting the appropriate reinforcement we can supply Evopreg prepregs which can offer a combination of lightweight, high mechanical properties and the potential for low environmental impact, and they can be consolidated by vacuum bagging, autoclave, out of autoclave (OOA) and press moulding.
Evopreg prepregs have been developed around a broad range of reinforcement types including but not limited to; glass, carbon, aramid and natural fibres such as flax.
