Production Team Leader
Composites Evolution Ltd develops and manufactures innovative composite materials including prepregs and natural fibre reinforcements. Our products are used to enhance performance, lower weight and reduce environmental impact in a variety of market sectors including mass transport, automotive, motorsport, sporting equipment and consumer goods. We are passionate about helping our clients develop new solutions and we work with designers, converters and brand owners to help them utilise our materials in their products.
Having recently moved into new factory premises with a state of the art prepreg manufacturing line, we are now seeking a Production Team Leader to supervise the day-to-day operations. The role will include:
- General oversight of all aspects of the manufacturing operation, including material handling and storage, resin mixing, prepreg manufacturing and despatch.
- Leading a team of production operatives, providing guidance, motivation and support as required.
- Ensuring compliance with the Company’s standard manufacturing operating procedures.
- Ensuring best practice with respect to health and safety in the manufacturing environment.
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping within the factory.
- Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement in terms of production quality, efficiency and job satisfaction.
- Working with the Prepreg Business Manager to ensure the efficient planning of the manufacturing operation in terms of inventories, scheduling and staffing.
We are looking for someone with the following essential skills, experience and characteristics:
- A strong background in manufacturing.
- Experience of leading a team of production operatives.
- A capable and confident communicator.
- A pragmatic, hands-on approach to problem solving and troubleshooting.
Highly desirable skills and experience are as follows:
- A sound technical understanding of composite materials, including resins, reinforcements and prepregs.
- Previous experience of running a prepreg line, or similar polymer production facility.

Composites Evolution is based in Chesterfield within a modern office and factory environment. Chesterfield is located on the edge of the Peak District National Park, one of the most beautiful areas of the UK.
